70s large Afghan embroidered velvet bag. Large size! Tote bag style with a square body and two handles that can be worn on a shoulder. Black velvet base with tribal couchwork embroidery. One size of the bag is red/gold and the other is green/gold. There is embroidery down each side and on the handles also. Lined inside with black cotton.

Length: 13 in.
Width: 16 in.
Depth: 7 in.
Handle Length: 16 in.
Material: velvet, cotton

Condition: Good. Minor wear to the fabric. The soft velvet fibers have worn down on most of the corners and edges, revealing plain cotton underneath. Example in photo 4. This gives the velvet a perfectly worn in appearance. There was a tiny interior side pocket, which has come apart at most of the seams. I almost just removed it completely, but decided to leave that up to the new owner. It is shown in the last photo.
